The idea
Most journaling apps want more from you. Vesperine asks for less.
No streaks to keep, no daily prompts, no reminders that nudge when you have missed a day. No word counts, mood graphs, or year-in-review montages.
At the end of the day you write once, in plain words, about whatever the day held. When you finish, the Mirror offers a single quiet reflection on what you wrote. Then the evening is closed, and if you skip a night, nothing breaks and nothing scolds you.
The Mirror
It notices. It does not advise, fix, or cheer. It is a witness to the day you set down.
The reflection is generated entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence. The words you write are never sent to KSQ Studios or to any server to be read. The Mirror sees them only on your phone, and only for as long as it takes to reflect.
Looking back
Some evenings you want to see further back than last night. Vesperine can gather a few lines from the past week, or from the season, and set them in front of you. It does not summarize them or tell you what they meant. They are your own sentences, returned exactly as you wrote them.
- Long call with the client that went better than I expected. I had braced for a fight that never came.
- Kids were loud all evening and I did not mind it as much as I usually do.
- Could not settle tonight. Kept picking up my phone and putting it down again.
- Made dinner properly for the first time in a while. Ate at the table instead of standing up.
- The light was going by the time I got home. Sat on the step until it was gone.
- Woke at three and could not get back down. Lay there listening to the house.
- The proposal slipped again. Third time now.
- Took the long way home just to stay out a bit longer.

Unfold iPhone Duo in landscape and the evening page opens into a spread: tonight's page on the left, where you write, and your recent nights open beside it. New in 2.1, along with deleting any night.

- The Mirror and Looking back run on your iPhone. Your writing is never sent away to be read. There is no account.
- No streaks
- No counters, no daily goals, no reminders that scold. A missed night is just a night, not a broken chain.
- Across your devices
- Entries sync between iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud. KSQ Studios never receives a copy.
